Maltodextrin
This is a highly processed food additive usually made from genetically modified (GMO) corn. Protein companies use it to make their products mix easier.SOY and Sunflower Lecithin
These common food additives are used to thicken protein powders and other foods. Soy lecithin is particularly troubling. To make it, soybean oil (GMO unless it says “organic” or “non-GMO verified”) is extracted from raw soybeans using a chemical solvent (usually hexane), then dried and bleached.3 Reasons to Say No to Eating Soy Foods:
Soy Contains Anti-Nutrients. More on Soy products:
Xanthan Gum
This is produced by bacterial fermentation of a sugar-containing medium — usually a potentially allergenic or GMO-containing substance such as corn, soy, dairy, or wheat. Xanthan gum has been shown to have a major laxative effects.Methyl Cellulose
This is a synthetically produce fibrous powder, highly processed multipurpose food ingredient. This chemical compound is derived from cellulose, and used as a thickener and emulsifier food additive.Maltodextrin
Is a polysaccharide that is used as a food additive. It is produced from starch by partial hydrolysis and is usually found as a white hygroscopic spray dried powder. It is easily digestible Being absorbed as glucose and maybe moderately sweet or almost flavourless. It is commonly used as an ingredient in highly processed foods. These ingredients found in most convenient foods, along with Xanthan gum, and guaranteed gum (products that are mixed with fermenting sugars with bacteria, then precipitated with iso propyl alcohol), help manufactures demand for shelf-stable products. These inclusions in our food can interfere with our adequate absorption of nutrients. Not all alternative sugars/ sweeteners or food flavour enhancers are suitable as options for healthier choices. Sugarless & low or no calorie substitutes, are highly processed, even if they are plant derived originally.
When these sugar alcohols, & extremely processed sweet additions, enter our systems, they create a response that has our bodies react in defence of itself, raising the alarm to shield the organs from the ‘unknown’.
The job of the FAT CELL, is to swell up, absorb the foreign invaders, & keep it from harming the bodies organs. In a perfect scenario, the body would ‘empty out the trash’, but the fat cells have no further instruction, so they HOLD the enemy, storing it as FAT. You have to manually detox to rid the toxins out of your system.
Chemical artificial sweeteners & flavour enhancers, are used as a sugar alternative in various Healthy food offerings. This very highly processed, sugar free, fat free/ low calorie alternative, & sugar alcohols can have an extremely negative effect on our bodies with ongoing use.
Sugar Alcohols
Sugar Substitutes Such as sorbitol or xylitol, Popular because they offer fewer calories but are really NOT absorbed easily by the body & therefore can create disharmony as a result. - gas, abdominal pain, bloating & diarrhoea. Mother Nature, did not invent the long long long shelf of life that we have for our convenience now...
