We have listed here an easy reference to some very recognisable & easy to find, anti inflammatory and immune boosting foods to fight with... and win!

 

We are learning that one of the best ways to reduce inflammation, lies in the refrigerator, but we have to put it there. WHY? Because inflammation is not our friend and there are foods we can, and foods we shouldn’t.

 

When your immune system recognises anything foreign, it triggers a process called inflammation. Intermittent bouts of inflammation cause problems. This may lead to more persistent and bigger issues...and linked to more chronic inflammation.....then that’s all leading to cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, arthritis, depression, and Alzheimer’s.....Not good.

 

Choosing the right anti inflammatory foods assists with reducing risk of illness.

Choosing all the wrong foods, may accelerate the inflammatory process.

 

FOODS THA5 CAUSE INFLAMMATION- usually taste great.....Sorry.

 

For instance, highly processed foods - (everything usually in a box), & white bread, pastries, fried foods, soft drinks or soda drinks, red meat, and margarine ...all taste great... and no.... not good for fighting.

 

What we very much need is, no fuss ANTI INFLAMMATORY FOODS-

that help your body, help itself:

 

BERRIES-

Blue berries rate high, provide antioxidants, reduce inflammation, boost immunity and are so ‘very berry’ heart friendly!

Choose organic as they are usually sprayed heavily with pesticides. Again....sorry.

 

BROCOLI-

( organic or unsprayed, no pesticides) and all its cruciferous friends such as cauliflower, brussel sprouts and kale, have an anti inflammatory effect due to all the antioxidants they contain.

 

AVOCADO -

Packed with potassium, magnesium, fiber, & heart healthy monounsaturated fats, reduce cancer risk and fight inflammation.

 

ORGANIC GREEN TEA-

Reduces the risk of heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s- packed with antioxidants, anti inflammatory properties, safe guarding cells from damage that can lead to disease.

 

MUSHSOOMS-

Rich in selenium, copper, & all the B Vitamins, contain antioxidants, provide anti inflammatory protection.

 

TUMERIC-

Effective with reducing inflammation, contains curcumin which combined with Peperine found in black pepper to enhance the absorption, is a powerful addition to your diet.

To make yours at home,

 

TUMERIC LATTE recipe:

From stove top to cup- 5 mins

Serves two

 

INGREDIENTS:

350 ml coconut milk , or almond milk

1/4 teaspoon Organic Tumeric

1/4 teaspoon Organic ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon Organic ground ginger

1teaspoon Organic Maple Syrup

Pinch of Organic black pepper

 

METHOD:

Add all ingredients to saucepan, whisk constantly over gentle heat, once hot, pour into mugs and sprinkle with cinnamon to serve.

 

*If you have a milk frother thingy..., yes to this!

Milk frothed, more fun...for your healthy cup of Not coffee...well at least, an in between coffees moment of joy with benefits.
